Guided tour sun 28.7. 1PM Art Realm '24 -biennial

The first Art Realm '24 Biennial, which occupies both exhibition buildings of the Hämeenlinna Art Museum, explores what the future Art Realm looks like through the eyes of artists. In the exhibition, the voice of tomorrow is heard through the dialogue between nature and humans. The futures offered by artists range from dystopia to hope. The works address, among other things, the relationship between humans and the environment, as well as the significance of art in the midst of crises shaking the planet.

The works in the Lohrmann building dismantle, among other things, the changes brought about by environmental crises caused by humans, and reflect on the redistribution of power. Awakening to action for change is a theme in many works: the consumption feasts of natural resources have been celebrated, and it is time to act. The ensemble in the Engel building examines humans as part of nature and their similarity to other living beings.

The selected artists and artist groups for the biennial are: Liina Aalto-Setälä, Tuuli Autio, Lotta Blomberg, Pirjetta Brander ja Janne Laine, Taija Goldblatt, Sirpa Haapaoja, Outimaija Hakala, Mollu Heino, Anni Honkajuuri, Heli Huotala, Sofi Häkkinen, Johanna Ilvessalo, Mari Järventausta-Lindertz, Sanna Kannisto, Marko Lampisuo, Jussi Lautu, Leena Lehti, Laura Lilja, Tuomas Linna, Juhana Moisander, Mäki-Nevala–Mottisenkangas, Jussi Nykänen, Hanna Oinonen, Harri Pälviranta, Johanna Rotko, J.
