Zapiski sumasshédšikh DIARY of Madmen / Zapiski sumasshédšikhDIARY of Madmen is a new performance by Dmitry Krymov, featuring renowned actors Chulpan Khamatova and Maxim Sukhanov. This is the first performance by director and artist Krymov in Russian, staged in exile, and marks the reunion of Khamatova and Sukhanov, who last appeared together almost 30 years ago in Valery Todorovsky's film The Land of the Deaf. Krymov's works are known for their distinctive creative language, blending various styles and genres. In this new production, he draws upon his own text—a phantasmagoric story about people adrift in space and time. The protagonists of DIARY of Madmen are two individuals forced into new and challenging life circumstances, seeking purpose in a foreign land after their established lives have been disrupted.
