My Three Sisters My Three Sisters is a powerful performance based on the true story of Sadaf Baghbani, an Iranian freedom fighter who survived more than 150 gunshot wounds. In the play, she appears on stage herself, portraying her own life. Inspired by Chekhov’s Three Sisters, the production explores her story and her relationship with her sisters, offering the audience an honest and direct look at the systematic oppression faced by women in Iran. The play is written and directed by Ashkan Khatibi, an Iranian actor and director who was forced to leave Iran after the 2022 protests due to his outspoken criticism of the regime. After fleeing the country, he obtained political asylum in Italy, where he has continued his artistic work. My Three Sisters has been performed in three Italian cities — Rome, Milan, and Turin — where it received a warm and enthusiastic response. The production now continues as part of a Nordic tour in Sweden, Finland, and Norway. This is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful story about courage, sisterhood, and the fight for freedom, told by those who have truly lived it. ________________________________________ Cast & Production Team Director & Author: Ashkan Khatibi Cast: Sadaf Baghbani Saba Pouri Pargol Beheshti & Ashkan Khatibi Vocalist: Sahba Khalili Amiri Additional Cast: Marjan Farahani Katayoun Moradi Melika Lotfi Producer: Gabriel Soroush Elmi Tour Coordinator: Marjan Farahani Lighting Operator: Sepehr Behzadi Director Assistant: Sepehr Behzadi ________________________________________ Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes (80 min) No intermission Age limit: 16+ Photo credit: Lorenzo Ceva Valla |
