The Sweet Finnish Burlesque Festival ✨️The Sweet Finnish Burlesque Festival - Glamour, Glitter, and Diverse Striptease Art in Central Finland ✨️ The Sweet Finnish Burlesque Festival saw the light of day in 2023 when Jyväskylä-based burlesque multi-talent Rosetta Sweet founded the festival together with Oulu's Lala L'More. In 2024, Rosetta produced the festival with the help of Miss Velvet Melt and Kitty Purrrdy, and after a successful collaboration, the festival transitioned into a co-production between Rosetta and Miss Velvet. The Sweet Finnish Burlesque Festival is now produced by Sweet Melt Productions Oy (Rosetta Sweet & Miss Velvet Melt). For us, The Sweet Finnish Burlesque Festival is a tribute to burlesque and the diversity of the art form. We want to offer the audience a high-quality selection of artists from both Finland and around the world. Equality, LGBTQ+ safe space, and accessibility are important values to us. These values are evident in many aspects of our work; we are very strict about ensuring that the event follows safer space principles, and we emphasize the visibility of these principles in both the event’s marketing and at the venue itself. We treat all performers equally, whether they are beginners or seasoned professionals. Everyone’s contribution is equally important to us, and we respect everyone involved in creating this wonderful event. We want to increase accessibility by organizing the event in an accessible location and ensuring, for example, that wheelchair users are provided with easy access seating near the front of the hall. We also sell a limited number of tickets for low-income attendees because we want to make sure that everyone, even those in more difficult financial situations at the time, can enjoy the festival. The event is fully funded by Sweet Melt Productions Oy and our own personal funds, without any grants.
